A hands-on enrichment class that uses sensory exploration to make early learning concepts engaging and memorable. Students explore a variety of materials while learning and using new vocabulary related to what they see, feel, hear, and experience. Instructors model descriptive words and general language concepts such as size, shape, color, texture, quantity, location, and action words.

Through guided exploration, students are encouraged to describe observations, compare and contrast materials, make predictions, follow multi-step directions, ask and answer questions, and share their ideas with the group. Activities combine early language, science, creativity, and problem-solving concepts in a playful learning environment.

This play group is not billed to insurance and does not qualify for superbills. Play group is a distinct service model designed to support social communication, peer interaction, and total-communication practice in a naturalistic environment. These sessions follow Regional Center developmental guidelines rather than medical insurance codes.
